Couple : Silent fighting

Resolving a fight and preventing future ones

If you have recently had a fight with your partner things may be tense for a few days so unless you want to have the cold shoulder for that time frame there are a few things you can do to better the situation. If you love your partner then sometimes you may be the one to say sorry even if the fight was not started by you. It’s normal for all couples to fight whether you are dating or married but how it’s handled depends on you and your partner.

Avoid anger while fighting

The first thing you should avoid during a fight and all future fights are trying to not fight out of anger. You often say things that can be very damaging to your relationship and it may be stuff that you would never normally say anyways. Calling each other names and yelling at the top of your lungs will not resolve anything. If you have just had a fight with your partner, attempt to talk to them once things have cooled down. Tell them that you are very sorry that it has escalated to the point it has and you would like to either talk things out rationally or just let it go. If the issue is something minor and really has no importance then it’s not even worth fighting about. Many couples often end up fighting over something silly that could have been avoided all together.

If something has been bothering you and you feel as though talking to your partner about it will only end in you sleeping in different rooms or even houses then try doing it via email. If you had the time to sit down and think about what you want to say before actually speaking things would often be calmer but who really has time to think when you are in the middle of a heated discussion. By sending your thoughts via email you can really plan and think about what you want to write. It will also give your partner time to think about it and either respond via email or discuss it later at home with you.

Howto make up after the fight

If you want to make up with your partner from a recent fight maybe plan a special night out for just the two of you. Take them to a restaurant that you know they really like and even offer to attend an event that they really like even if you don’t. If you want to make your female companion feel special maybe pick her up a bouquet of her favorite flowers or purchase some of her favorite perfume. If you want to make your male partner feel special purchase tickets to his favorite sporting event and make it a fun filled day for him. There are little things that you can do to help a bad fight turn into a happy ending.

One of the easiest things that you can often do to make things better after a fight is by simply saying you’re sorry and giving them a loving embrace. That costs no money and if done with real feeling you and your partner should be back on good terms in no time.
